Stata Conference 2021 | Belgium

Once again as official distributor of Stata, it was a great pleasure to organize the 3rd Belgian Stata Conference along with our academic partner, the University of Antwerp.

Monday 7 June - 9:00

Once again as official distributor of Stata, it was a great pleasure to organize the 3rd Belgian Stata Conference along with our academic partner, the University of Antwerp.

The 1st edition RITME organized was hosted by the ULB in 2016, the 2nd was in 2018 by the KU Leuven. They were both great successes and we’ve been convinced ever since that offering our community of Stata users a time and space to meet, share knowledge and experience is essential.

Though this edition was hosted entirely online due to the COVID pandemic, we were very much grateful that the University of Antwerp confirmed its interest and showed so much dedication, in spite of the extra challenges we were facing.

This was a nice and instructive day thanks to Suncica Vujic Associate Professor of Applied Econometrics at University of Antwerp and Nick Deschacht Professor of Economics at the KU LEUVEN. They both did a tremendous work to put together the scientific Committee and built a promising program.

After a warm welcome from Koen Vandenbempt, the Dean of the University, a total of 5 Sessions were held with 4 Keynote lecturers, 5 speakers and one representant of StataCorp. Each presentation was followed by a time for questions and answers to let our 46 registered attendees to share with the speakers.

1 Groupe de musique | The Smiths Presumably

During the breaks and after the Conference, there was the possibility to connect and interact informally with other participants via the “WonderMe” platform and at the end of the day, was hosted an online acoustic session by the band The Smiths Presumably – an Antwerp-based tribute band to The Smiths & Morrissey. A foretaste of an almost newfound freedom!

Ritme is looking forward to organizing the 4th edition in 2023!
