A clear and structured graphical interface

In addition to an intuitive interface, benefit from a wizard that help you get started with the software, Origin Central: navigation through existing projects, sample projects (graphics and analysis), video tutorials or the application exchange platform… Moreover, a multi-sheet workbook system and an integrated project explorer help you organize your projects in a structured way.

Numerous data analysis tools

Origin offers a wide range of data analysis tools (curve and area fitting, peak analysis, interpolation, signal processing, derivatives) and statistics (descriptive, ANOVA, parametric and non-parametric tests, multivariate analysis, power and sample size calculations, survival analysis and ROC curves).

Each analysis is accompanied by a report that summarizes parameters and organizes your results. In addition, you have access to the entire NAG Mark 25 library (latest version) via Origin C functions (integrated programming language).

Opt for a wide selection of publication-quality graphics

With more than 100 types of graphics built in, Origin makes it easy to create and customize your visualizations and give you optimal publication-quality results. Powerful tools allow you to easily manipulate and customize your charts.

Many types of graphs are available such as histograms, pie charts, waterfalls, radars, parametric graphs, polar coordinate graphs, area curves, profile curves, iso line maps, thermal maps, field graphs, Pareto graphs, with multiple vertical axes or multiple sections, in 2D or 3D, or statistical graphs.

Automate repetitive tasks via scripts

With or without programming, Origin allows you to create import filters, import multiple files simultaneously, and add scripts after import that can be saved and reused. The same is true for analysis, data processing and graphics, whose styles and properties can be saved and reused at will.

To take it a step further, Origin includes two built-in programming languages : Origin C, a C-compatible language, and the interpreted LabTalk™ programming language. It also has a real development environment, the Code Builder, to code and debug its scripts.

Having a large library of scalable applications

Origin offers an application exchange platform, powered by users and the OriginLab team itself, to make available to as many people as possible tools developed around Origin.

Available directly from Origin, you can install and test these applications that will simplify your work. Listening to users, OriginLab regularly develops new applications to meet their specific needs.

Compatible with your other tools

Connect your other tools to Origin: Matlab™, LabView™ or Microsoft© Excel. Query Origin from these tools to get the most out of each. You can also create your own processing routines in Origin C or LabTalk, integrating your Python or R codes.

Work on large datasets

Origin allows you to connect to your databases via ODBC, ADO connectors or import very large test datasets. Once imported, this data will be able to be visualized, explored, analyzed, in a simplified way, with dynamic tools.

What’s new for the Origin 2023 version

The Origin 2023 version offers a number of new features to make your work easier, including:

• Enhanced Project and Window Management: Adding notes to folders, Pin or restoring their size and position, etc.

• Worksheet Enhancements: Banded Rows for Worksheet and Table in Graph, Improved Worksheet Export to Image, ability to Copy the sheet or selection as HTML/EML, etc.

• Insert Worksheets in Graph or Layout: to create custom reports.

• Double-Y Graphs in Single Layer : This version supports plotting Double-Y graphs in a single layer, allowing easier manipulation and analysis of plotted data.

• Smart Skipping of Symbols for Large Datasets : For a nicer presentation of data while maintaining overall features of the data.

• Line-Symbol Plot with automatic X value sorting : Perform automatic X value sorting of data in line or line-symbol plots without having to sort the worksheet columns.

• Angle Annotation Tool : You can now simply click and select three points in a graph to add the angle annotation.

• Text Box and Page/Layer Title : New Mini Toolbar buttons and properties have been added to support Layer and Page level titles.

• Improvements to Exporting: Built-in viewer for immediate preview of raster and EMF exports, Hot key to export graph with last-used theme ect.

• Improvements to Contour Plots : Insert multiple custom contour levels with options for turning on lines and labels ect.
