Review of the 2nd Ritme Scientific Committee meeting

Review of the 2nd Ritme Scientific Committee meeting

An exploration of new challenges and opportunities

After a first session last May, where the groundwork for discussions was laid regarding the changes in the scientific software sector, the second Ritme Scientific Committee met on September 24 and 25 to delve deeper into the challenges and explore new avenues for innovation. Here’s a summary of the topics covered and key points from these fruitful discussions.

  • Generative AI: A Revolution for Competitive Intelligence

Generative AI is gradually becoming an essential tool in the field of competitive intelligence. This technology is already well advanced when it comes to extracting information, synthesizing existing content, or automating certain monitoring processes. However, there is still room for improvement, particularly regarding information gathering through search engines, where performance remains to be optimized.

  • Research Data Processing and exploiting: Skills to Strengthen

One of the major challenges raised concerns the processing and exploitation of research data. The findings are clear: skills in bioinformatics, statistics, and the use of AI tools such as R and Python are sometimes lacking in academic research. Despite a growing demand for training in these areas, the dissemination of these skills remains slow.

  • Data Management: Towards Optimized Quality

Issues related to the management of scientific data are also at the forefront of current concerns. Data integrity, accessibility, security, and interoperability are critical topics. The discussions highlighted the need for more advanced solutions, such as the digitization of validation processes and ‘no-code’ automation of repetitive tasks in business processes (a technology enabling faster and simpler implementation of automations). These improvements would not only enhance efficiency but also meet the growing demands in data management.

This second committee helped to highlight major challenges for the coming years and paved the way for innovative solutions in the field of software and services related to scientific research.

We invite you to join us on December 6 for the third session of our Scientific Committee.
